Burn Permits

How to obtain a burn permit:

Call Forestry at (239) 690-8001

Forestry will issue permission depending on weather and other current conditions

If your burn pile is large, you will be issued a permit number

Call Alva FD at (239) 728-2223

Inform us that you will be burning today.
We will ask you for:

    1. your permit number (if applicable),
    2. your name,
    3. the address of the burn location,
    4. and a phone number at which we can contact you, and
    5. size and type of the fire (pit, pile, etc.).

Requirements

  1. Call each day you burn.
  2. Put the fire out before sunset.
  3. Burns may not be a nuisance to neighbors or produce heavy smoke.
